Travelling just got a little more fun thanks to a new partnership.
The London International Airport has partnered with the London Arts Council and the London Heritage Council to bring two art exhibits to the airport.
One is a mural created by Jen Romnes titled “Tension”.
Romnes tells XFM news she choose the name Tension because of the tension in the different art styles, and the different materials used in the mural.
The mural has metal leaves sticking out of it and Romnes says that is the first time she has used metal and it was challenging to get it done on time.
The other exhibit is painted artifacts of the Fanshawe Pioneer Village with interactive things such as take a photo in a hat from the 1800’s, and a QR code reader where you can scan with your smartphone and people will talk to you about that display.
You can also see how people travelled in the 1800’s and what they travelled with.
Both will be on display at the airport this weekend apart of London Cultural Days and Doors Open London.
