This year’s Forest City Comicon is expected to be bigger than ever.
Committee member John Houghton says essentially the event is a celebration of nerd culture, like no other.
Centennial Hall will host it on October 19th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Houghton says Comicon will feature costumes, vendors, panels, board games and video game tournaments.
He says there is something for everyone, and they offer fun activities for all age groups.
Houghton adds special guests include Mitch Markowitz, Twinfools and Nova, Jay Stephens and more.
He tells the X the guest list will continue to be updated until the day before the event.
Houghton says all three floors of Centennial Hall will be used for this event, and they already have about 100 vendors.
Vendors include Skyfox Games, Nikkimomos, Game Master’s Emporium and Craft Hackers.
Panels and discussion forums include live demonstrations of larp, a comedy duo and a lot of the comic guests will talk about what it takes to become a comic artist.
He adds they have expanded the Forest City Comicon more than ever this year, and hope to continue to expand.
