The London Health Sciences Centre has been selected as one of ten hospitals in Ontario designated as referral hospitals to treat potential Ebola patients.

The province will be boosting the inventory and availability of personal protective equipment, including protective respirators.

Officials will also make sure there are appropriately outfitted ambulances to transport potential Ebola cases to the designated hospitals.

Ebola specimens will be tested at Public Health Ontario’s provincial labs starting on Monday.

There have been no confirmed Ebola cases in Canada.

But the first U.S. patient to test positive for the virus in Dallas died earlier this month. Two nurses contracted the virus from him and remain in isolation.
