Last night 16 music industry arts bands from Fanshawe College took the stage at Aeolian hall to celebrate Canadian music and the late Jack Richardson. Who was not only a major part in the Canadian music scene helping produce classics from the Guess Who and many other bands, but Richardson was also one of the founding members of the notorious MIA program (music industry arts) at Fanshawe.
The performance was kicked off with Dirty Sol ft. Kaleidoscope performing their own rendition of the classic song “One Week” originally performed by The Barenaked Ladies (check out the link below). After that performance the tone was officially set for the evening, each performance bringing light to some of the best musical acts that Canada has produced.
Not only was it MIA’s intention to give the gift of music to the community, all the proceeds from the concert last night went towards The Heart and Stroke foundation in honor of Jack Richardson who passed away in 2011 form heart disease.
