Just as the strike was heading into it’s eighth week, CUPE Local 101 and the City have reached a tentative agreement.
Both sides made the announcement early Sunday afternoon in statements.
CUPE Local 101 says that they’re making arrangements for a ratification meeting for the members.
The Union says they will provide further information about the ratification meeting, including time, date and venue as more information becomes finalized.
They say the picketing duties and media blackout will continue until both parties have had a chance to review the tentative agreement and vote on the new contract.
The strike involving 750 inside city workers began on May 25th.
