It’s sexual awareness week and HIV is getting a spotlight. For an entire week, temporary clinics will pop-up to test for the virus.
Ted Town works with Options Clinic, and has been testing people for 10 years. He believes, 30 per cent of new infections are from people who thought they were negative.
Options Clinic is the only medical facility that can anonymously test. Meaning if you go, only the mere basics of yourself are revealed in the sent in report. Those basics include; your gender, birth-date and perhaps a small description.
The process takes about 20 minutes with only a pin-prick to your finger and a small discussion with the practitioner.
If you would like to get tested for HIV check out WWW.TestingWeek.ca for the next available dates.
