The Forest City Derby girls are back at the Western Fair and ready for a great season. The teams were formed in 2006 by a group of women dedicated to bringing roller derby to the London area.
There are three teams within the Forest City Derby Girl league: the Thames Fatales, the Luscious Lunch Ladies, and the Timber Rollers.
Member of the Timber Rollers, ‘Femmebot’ says “the season should be really good, we have some great new players to the team.”
The atmosphere at the derby is so welcoming, and the crowd gets so excited for the action. At intermissions, dozens of hola-hoops are tossed onto the track, inviting anyone from the crowd to participate and have a good time .
The FCDG are looking for new members to recruit, as well as volunteers and officials.
