City Council motioned on Tuesday to continue working to help refugees resettling to London. the motion was passed unanimously to explore more opportunities for London to help any newcomers.
The motion also requested that the mayor send letters of support from London towards the Provincal and Federal government. Mayor Matt brown said that the city is committed to helping in any way it can
“We need to pull together as a community…to make sure that we are welcoming these refugees that are fleeing terror”
The motion also requested councilors Jared Zaifman, Harold Usher and deputy mayor Maureen Cassidy are to continue working with local organizations to find out what other steps the city could take to support refugees
