Western Students are going blue to help a young London boy.
The Make a Wish foundation of Southwestern Ontario is hosting their Annual Go Blue Fundraiser. They’re encouraging local groups to fund raise for their organization. The Dream Team, a charity group part of Western’s Health Sciences Student Council, is bringing Go Blue to the University campus.
Their GO BLUE campaign encourages students to wear blue, and even dye their hair blue, to raise money. They’re selling Polaroids, and hosting information booths around Western’s campus to fund raise. Many members of the Dream Team, and the Health Sciences Student Council are dying their hair blue for the rest of the month to collect as much money as possible.
The Dream Team’s wish child is a 5 year old London local named Landon, who recently received a liver transplant. Landon’s wish is to see his favorite Hockey Player. However. they have not been told who that is, as of yet.
The Dream Team will be posted around Western’s campus till the end of the week. They are also planning a charity night at the Spoke & Rim Tavern, where they will auction off a signed Leafs jersey for the good cause.
