After almost 50 years the London Block Parent program is shutting down for good, after not receiving funding from London City Council. The program lost its funding this year when the city launched a new competitive process intended to take the politics out of deciding which groups receive grants.
London Block Parents goal was to provide immediate assistance through a safety network and to offer supportive community education programs
Known by the red and white signs on the front of peoples homes, the program was a major assistance to kids who needed help in the London Community.
The program lost major interest after starting with over 6000 homes, now the program has only about 360 homes in the program.
