Are exams making you a little stressed? The Forwell Hall has a de-stress oasis. The hall is jam packed with free food, drinks and massages. There are also lots of gaming consoles and a petting zoo.
One of the many students making an appearance at the Forewell is Jonathan Vandell, a student in the recreation and leisure program.
“The crunch is starting and all the assignments are due this week. All the exams start next week. I was passing through and saw this and remembered last semester that they did something like this. It’s a really good way to break up the day and focus on something else for an hour.”
In one of the corners showcase two husky puppies. These fuzzy furballs enjoy being petted and social interaction.
“The huskies are my favourite by far.”
Jack Sheldon is another student at Fanshawe. He is currently taking the police foundations course. “I’m here just to see the animals and play some video games.”
With a variety of retro Nintendo consoles, to Play Stations and xbox, many gamers can get the feel of the old gaming systems and the new ones to follow.
“My favourite attractions right now are the video games. Just seeing all the games that I play and haven’t seen yet is interesting.”
Mia Genc is showcasing a stand filled with Etch-sketch drawing boards and mini games. The stand represents the employment and entrepreneur services. “We have goodies here that they can get for free.”
Genc says the massage tables are a great idea to help de-stress students from exams.
The two day stress free event runs until Wednesday from 10-2pm.
