Western University’s Career Fair is this Thursday, September 28th. The event will run from 10am to 3pm at the Campus Rec Centre.
Over 70 different employers pulled from all industries and faculties will be in attendance. The event is open to everyone, not just Western students, even alumni of the University are allowed to attend.
One new addition this year includes an app developed specifically by the University for the event. The app features the list of employers in attendance, the floor plan, tips on how to prepare for the fair, and answers to frequently asked questions. The app is available in the respective app stores for both Android and IOS.
Kate Baker, the Employer Relationship Developer for the Student Success Centre at Western University, says it’s important to be prepared. She had this to say, “Doing your research ahead of time, being on the website and social media accounts… formulating interesting questions, recruiters get the same questions over and over, so being thoughtful and innovative will help you stand out.”
Baker encourages everyone to come to the fair and says it is never too early or too late to start thinking about your career. The event is open to students, alumni, and even non-students, Baker also mentions that the University’s Career Centre services are available to Western students even 1 year after graduation.
