This Saturday is London’s annual Fall Food Festival. The festival is held in order to help Londoners celebrate and prepare for their Thanksgiving dinners.
The event starts at 8am at the Covent Garden Market and runs until 1pm. During the festival there will be a variety of events happening for anyone of all ages to enjoy. Some scheduled events for the kids include the children’s husk relay, guess the funny vegetable and a scavenger hunt.
For the adults that love to cook, there is a free cooking class for anyone to attend. You can also watch some of London’s greatest chefs compete to make the best meal out of leftover turkey. The chefs are competing in support of Growing Chefs Ontario.
If you are looking to taste some thanksgiving foods while you attend this event there will be a corn roast from 11am-1pm. There are different local corns as well as multiple options for different butters that you can try. You can also be a part of the sampling and judging from the leftover turkey competition.
This event is completely free to the public and is part of the Farmer’s Market that is happening just outside the Covent Garden Market doors. While the event is free, donations are greatly appreciated when participating in the sampling and judging of the leftovers competition in order to help support Growing Chef’s Ontario.
The Fall Food Festival is a great opportunity for the family to get out and enjoy some food while getting into the Thanksgiving spirit.
