The London Knights got contributions from their veteran forwards as they defeated the Erie Otters 6-2 at Budweiser Gardens.
Max Jones scored 2 goals and added two assists in the win for London. He will play in Erie Tuesday and then will leave to tryout for Team USA for their World Junior team.
” I have to play my game and not worry about the factors that I can’t control. I think I have a good shot of being there and I am just going to do what I do best.” said Jones as he looks to make the team.
Knights captain Robert Thomas and Alex Formenton are set to travel to St. Catherines as they are looking to represent Team Canada in the tournament.
Thomas scored a goal and added an assist and feels his recent success gives him a shot to make the team.
” I think I have been playing pretty good the last couple weeks. It gives me some confidence and momentum to go in and show what I can do.”
Andrew Perrott scored his first career goal. Cliff Pu and Sam Miletic added the others for London.
Joseph Raaymakers made 22 saves in his 20th consecutive start for the Knights.
The two teams faceoff on Tuesday at the Erie Insurance Arena. Puck drop is at 7.
