The London Knights continued their success on the road at the WFCU Centre before 4,959, and are now on a winning streak.
The Knights took on the rival Windsor Spitfires and defeated them by a score of 5-2, giving the Knights 2 out of 3 wins in Windsor this season and now sit 3 points ahead of Windsor in 4th.
One of the biggest things the Knights will takeaway from this game is getting contributions from all 4 lines.
“It’s huge, it makes it where we can roll all four lines out and get good attempts. Once they get one (goal) it pumps the guys up on the bench”, said Assistant Coach Rick Steadman.
Sergey Popov, Josh Nelson, Alex Formenton, Liam Foudy and Alec Regula scored for the Knights while Luke Boka registered both goals for Windsor.

One similarity between both teams is their goaltending. Michael DiPietro allowed 4 goals on 27 shots in the Windsor net while Joseph Raaymakers had a steady performance stopping 25 for the Knights.
“Ever since we got him he’s been great for us. He stands tall, makes big saves and a couple back-door stops. Anytime you have a good backstop like that it helps the team out”, said Steadman talking about his goaltender.
London captain Evan Bouchard was named the first star, registering 2 assists and said it’s nice to win with the recent history of the two teams.
“It’s big for us coming off the trades. It was big to get on a roll like this after beating Kitchener and now Windsor, it’s going to give us some confidence”.
The Knights look to extend their win streak to 3 games tomorrow as they are home to Sam Miletic and the Niagara Ice Dogs. Puck drop at Budweiser Gardens is scheduled for 7:30.
Personal Achievement:
Evan Bouchard, who was named to the Sherwin Williams Top Prospects Game will now have a letter on his jersey. He was named an alternate captain for Team Cherry.
“It’s exciting, not many people get to wear it. I’m going to cherish it.”
Bouchard and Team Cherry take on Team Orr at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph on January 25th.
Sergey Popov, acquired from the Kingston Frontenacs registered his first goal with the Knights in tonight’s game.
