Today is Bell Let’s Talk day. Millions of people will be interacting on social media to speak out about mental illness while showing support for those who live with it.
Bell invites everyone to participate with the incentive of donating 5 cents for every tweet, social media video and use of their Facebook frame or Snapchat filter to propel the conversation.
Fanshawe College is taking part in the festivities. The Zen Den is open today to promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma.
They have many activities to help students manage their mental health. They hope students will take this information and learn to incorporate it into their day-to-day lives.
The Muse meditation headband is a first of it’s kind at Fanshawe, and the Zen Den is offering student the chance to give it a try. It’s a tool people can use to help reduce stress and anxiety.
