On March 13, 2018, at around 2:30 am, members of the London Police Service responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Marconi Boulevard and Noel Avenue.
When police arrived, they found evidence that a weapon had been fired.
Upon further investigation, police found an altercation had occurred in the area resulting in a firearm being discharged, with the projectile striking a nearby house causing some damage. No one was injured in the altercation and the weapon has not been found.
On March 14, 2018, London Police arrested 29 year old Liban Ali of London. He has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:
- Use firearm carelessly
- Point firearm
- Possess firearm other than restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence
- Discharge firearm being reckless as to the life or safety of another person
- Possess firearm while prohibited
He remains in custody and will appear in court on March 15. The investigation is ongoing.
