Got Game Street Hockey is coming back to London for its 16th year.
Victoria Park will be filled with hundreds of people, including players, watchers, vendors, and more. Poutine vendors will be there, so enjoy food while listening to music and watching the kids and adults compete and have fun.
Greg Matthison, Owner and Event Director, is one of the many people that help out with this event. He explains why they chose street hockey for this event.
“Street hockey is Canada’s game, it’s a sport that anyone can get involved in and you don’t need skates and you don’t need all of the equipment, you just need the stick.”
With the event happening every year for so long, why is street hockey so important to other people? Matthison says that for him at least, he has played, and his son has played. And it’s an event that truly everyone is able to be a part of.
“There’s nothing better than the experience of playing with a team in a tournament with the atmosphere of Victoria Park.”
Friends are able to create a team together and work together to play a fun, classic game.
