The London Knights were on the ice working on their special teams and basic drills to make sure they are good to go for their home opener on Friday. The Knights are taking on the Windsor Spitfires and they will look to start the season on a better note than last years. The Knights were 1-8 in their first 9 games of the season. This year looks more promising, London Knights new comer Sahil Panwar spoke today regarding Friday nights big game and what he was working on in practice. “I’m just going to work on my touches and basic fundamentals so I can be on my game this Friday.” Panwar added he is a little nervous as he has never really played in front of a sold out crowd like the one at Budweiser Gardens. “playing in front of nine-thousand fans is one of the biggest crowds I’ve ever played in front of, I’ve worked off some of the nerves by playing in the pre season but the home opener will definitely be a different atmosphere.” Meanwhile Knights veteran Cole Tymkin was working on the system such as break outs, puck management, and the power play. He added that he knows the Spitfires like to come out strong but if they stick to the plan they should be fine. “we know they play hard and have the same style of play as we do, hopefully we just end up out working them and come out with the win.” The Knights will have one more practice tomorrow, and Friday will be the beginning of a new chapter in the Ontario Hockey League, and for the London Knights.
