Former CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi has been granted bail after a brief court appearance Wednesday.
Ghomeshi’s bail conditions including living with his mother, turning over his passport, and remaining in Ontario. He is also not allowed to contact the alleged victims.
Toronto police have laid five charges against the 47-year-old.
Police say Ghomeshi turned himself in Wednesday to face four charges of sexual assault and one count of choking.
Recently, Ghomeshi withdrew his $55-million lawsuit against the CBC.
The ex-host of CBC’s “Q” admitted to engaging in “rough sex” in a Facebook post just days before victims began coming forward with allegations of being sexually or physically assaulted by Ghomeshi.
He was fired by the CBC on Oct. 26 and Toronto police launched a formal investigation on Oct. 31.
