Western University’s London Hall officially kicked off the Business Cares Food Drive today.
The drive is made possible through combined efforts from London’s businesses, community, and Food Bank.
This year’s goal is to reach just over 281,000 lbs of food to support those in need over the holidays.
“The whole overall campaign for the Business Cares Food Drive is they always like to raise one more pound then the previous year. It’s to say it’s a big goal but lets keep trying to improve what we did last year.” said Scott May, Campus Communications Consultant for UWO.
Local residents can show their support through food and financial donations, or volunteering with the organization.
“These type of campaigns are critical to raise enough food to support the people who use the Food Bank, and 40 % of those using the facility are children. The need for food is unfortunately always there.” said May.
For those looking to donate – you can find donation boxes at all RBC royal bank branches in the city, at Lubnow Restoration, and at County Heritage Forest Products.
