The giving season is upon us, and there are lots of things you can do to help others enjoy their holidays.
Organizations and nonprofit charities around the region are welcoming any extra help, just like Meals on Wheels.
Interim Executive Director for the service Christine Poier says Meals on Wheels provides support for seniors and adults with disabilities, not just throughout the holidays but all year long.
The service delivers hot, chilled and frozen meals which accommodate different diet types and texture modifications.
Poier tells the X they will be receiving gifts until Christmas from members of the community, whether it is handmade gifts or donations.
She says those gifts will be put into a gift bag and delivered to a number of their clients on Christmas day, as well as a Christmas meal.
You can help out a variety of organizations this Christmas by donating, making gifts or by volunteering.
Poier says Meals on Wheels also provides a transportation service to those who are unable to get to things like medical appointments.
She says right now they are in high demand for transportation volunteers.
