The offense was there but the defense wasn’t for the London Lightning losing 122-109 to the Saint John Mill Rats. The defense seemed to be the trouble as the Mill Rats offense was to much to handle with six players in double digits for points. This includes former Lightning players Darin Mency and Raheem Singleton. Forward Marvin Phillips knows this game is going to linger.
“Well unfortunately we don’t have a game for a while, so that means we’re going to have to sit with this lose.”
The team overall were just frustrated with the game. Phillips summed it up pretty easily.
“You beat the defending champs, the number one team in the league by twenty and we come in and we lose to team I think isn’t really good.”
Next Sunday they will play there next game against the Mississauga Power after Fanshawe’s men’s and women’s play the Lambton Lions.
Some notable stat lines for the Lightning include:
- Marvin Phillips: 22 pts/ 12 reb
- Emmanuel Little: 22 pts/ 5 reb
- Al Stewart: 7 pts/ 6 asts/ 5 reb
