Many people (mainly kids) around Canada can’t afford to play hockey, or even skate at all. In 2011, a charity based in Toronto was started to help change that, and it’s called “Skate to Great”. There are now over 100 drop off locations that you can drop off your skates, hockey sticks and helmets at that will be donated to those in need. You are able to get a tax receipt if you’d like, as Play It Again Sports will value your skates for you. Check out SkateToGreat.org to find more details and locations.
