If you’ve been having aches and pains from the cold, or are stressed with a heavy work load Fanshawe College’s Mend Clinic can help.
The Clinic is a student run massage service run by Massage Therapy students.
Stephanie Cox is a Clinic Supervisor she says students, faculty and the public can use the services.
Cox says the clinic provides students with the opportunity to learn hands on skills in a workplace environment.
She adds often tension is built in the body from factors such as stress, or poor posture from sitting too long.
And, although even a new study suggests that sitting for much of the day may be deadly in the long run, sometimes it seems hard not to with an office job, long classes or homework.
However, Cox says the Mend clinic provides relaxation techniques which helps poor posture and tension.
The cost for Fanshawe students and faculty is $12 for 45 minutes, while the going rate for the public is $25 for 45 minutes.
The clinic is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm.
Cox says the students are experienced in many types if therapies including sport, clinical and pregnancy massage.
She advises any you to book online through their website at www.mendmassage.ca for an affordable massage right on campus.
