Western’s USC Elections are currently underway and are looking for students to cast their votes!
Students will be voting for student representatives for the 2015-2016 school year. The council plays an important role in shaping the Western experience and a large reason why students should have a say.
Information on the candidate profiles can be found on Western’s USC website.
During the vote, students will also be asked whether or not they support increased funding for Western’s Marching Band and Orientation Week referendums:
- Marching Band Referendum: (Yes or No)
“Would you support the establishment of a $0.50 student fee, to be adjusted annual with inflation, to be collected on behalf of the Western Marching Band?” - O-Pass Referendum: (Yes or No)
“Do you support the establishment of a $90.00 fee, to be adjusted annually as per the cost of the program thereafter, to be levied on all incoming students who are eligible to participate in Orientation Week? The mandatory fee will not be levied on upper year students, and replaces the past practice of selling an O-Kit to incoming students.”
Those looking to vote can do so online through the USC website at voteusc.ca. The polls will remain open throughout the day today and close at 8pm tomorrow. Following the polls, results will be announced around 8:30pm Wednesday.
