City crews were at Jesse Davidson park this afternoon to remove the remains of a playground that caught fire earlier this morning.
Emergency crews received a call around 4 am with reports that the small play ground was on fire. When they arrived, fire crews quickly set out the blaze, but it was too late to save the structure from damage.
So far, Police have received 3 calls in the past month about similar cases at playgrounds, all in the same neighbourhood.
- Arthur Park Road on July 12th
- Saint Jude Separate School on July 31st
- Jesse Davidson Park on August 5th
One local resident says that he used the playground a lot, and was alarmed to see the damage when he and his young daughter arrived at the park. He says that he is glad that no one is hurt but hopes that the person or persons responsible are brought to justice.
Anyone with Information is asked to call Police or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
