Fanshawe College is well known across Ontario and it is no surprise how many awards they have won. Paul Williams is the coordinator for Respiratory Therapy has won the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) 2016 Robert Merry Award for excellence in Education.
This award is awarded to someone from the CSRT that has made an exceptional contribution to education. Williams says that he was excited when he got the notification and he was quite humbled to be recognized by his peers.
Before coming to teach at Fanshawe College, Williams worked in critical care at Victoria Hospital. Williams’ intent was never to teach, but he says that it has turned out to be a great career for him.
Even though this award is for Paul Williams, it means a lot to the division of the school he is teaching at. Respiratory Therapy is located in the school of health sciences. Christine Griffith is the Chair of School of Health Sciences and she says that the entire school reflects in his good work.
Paul will be given his award at the President’s Banquet at the CSRT Annual Education Conference.
