Fanshawe Student Union and Fanshawe College teamed up to bring the popular activist and sex educator Laci Green as one of their sexual violence prevention initiatives.
Green is coming all the way from California to present her show “Best Sex Ever’ which is described as the sex ed you didn’t get at school, but should have.
Sexual violence prevention advisor Leah Marshall said Laci Green is a great explaining this topics, “Laci is an activist, sex educator from the states. She has a youtube channel called ‘Sex+’ where she has over a million followers”.
One of Green’s most popular videos is consent 101: where she explains what is consent and why is important to have consent.
Marshall explained this kind of shows are worth having because they provided information beyond the average sex ed curriculum, “Laci discusses important topics such as sexuality, gender, rape culture, feminism, and more,” she continued, “It’s also really important for the students since they will get the chance of seeing a youtube star talking about things that matter.”
Leah Marshall leads sexual violence prevention initiatives every month, and this show is part of them.
‘Best Sex Ever’ will take place February 1st at 7PM in J Gym.
