We know it’s coming every year and Canadian’s are usually prepared. It’s when mother nature decides to blanket the ground in snow and the temperature gets colder.
Winter storms happen every year in Canada, but places in America aren’t used to high amounts of snow. The East Coast was blanketed in snow ranging from 30 inches to 66 inches last week and it left many cities trapped.
“We do have a 24-hour, seven day a week shift that starts at the beginning of November and ends at the end of April,” says John Parson who is the Division Manager of Transportation and Roadside Operations for London. “Those are our first responders that go out and treat main roads.”
Parson’s adds that most cities have a similar program in order to be prepared. It’s important to follow weather warnings and have first aid kits prepared in case of an emergency.
