The Hood Archery Games is a new kind of hobby thats taking off in popularity. It’s similar to paint ball and lazer tag but instead of guns with paintballs or lazers you use a bow and arrows.
Glen Gorman opened this facility this past November and said the amount of people they have gotten is unbelievable for being opened for so little time. Gorman said “each group that comes in will come back the next week with more of their friends, and thats the best way to get the word out is through friends and family giving you the thumbs up.”
“Many people who play paintball enjoy this game as well, it is very similar.” said Gorman.
Rules are similar to dodge ball where if you get hit you join the other side until everyone is on one side. There are obstacles and safe zones, and head shots don’t count. Each player will start at the wall and when the buzzer goes, they will run to the middle grab the arrows and bring them back to there side. In the middle of the room there are two lines and if you are inside those lines its called the safe zone, you can’t be shot in the safe zone for 5 seconds.
Glen also mentioned that because this facility is no new it has a lot of room for improvements, he hopes to add more space, obstacles, and more bows and arrows for bigger group outings. The facility is located on Dearness drive and offers group deals, one on one training and birthday discounts.
