With the summer coming to an end, school is back in session. Here at Fanshawe 15, 000 students are enrolled in over 230 programs. A good percentage of these students, are fresh out of high school.
“From my point of view as a professor, I’ve heard a lot of talk in our meetings around this challenge and that is students who come fresh out of high school and they may or may not know what their over all plans are for their future, and they have to choose, and they choose and maybe it just isn’t for them” – Dawn Rovers, Fanshawe Marketing Professor
If you feel you’re not in the right program, you can make a change. You should never feel pressured to staying in a program if you don’t think its right for you. Lucky enough for Fanshawe students, you can receive a refund if you decide to drop out before September 19th. You may also decide to switch, and your tuition paid can go towards another program.
“The main feeling for students who feels like they should switch is they don’t feel like they belong and they don’t feel like this is a fit for them” – Kelsey MacDonald, Student Success advisor
If you feel you’re not in the right program, but you’re unsure where you belong the Fanshawe Advising Centre offers career testing and as well offer FanshawePathFinder.ca. With this site, you are provided with questions that can suggest a career choice based on your answers.
If you think you are in the wrong program, it should be in your best interest to talk with your program director, and book an appointment with your student success advisor. Don’t be afraid to ever ask for help, because here at Fanshawe someone will always be there to support you,
