Some misdirected anger flew in to a small theatre company in Hamilton Ontario via twitter from Donald Trump supporters this weekend, but they targeted the wrong Hamilton.
There’s Hamilton the hit Broadway musical, then there’s Hamilton Ontario.
The anger was meant for the cast on Broadway after they delivered a message to Vice President-elect Mike Pence after the curtain call on Friday’s performance.
Actor Brandon Victor Dixon shared a message of diversity.
“We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights. We truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us.”
Donald Trump was quick to twitter, asking for the cast to apologize. A slew of tweets then came flying at @HamiltonTheatre rather than @Hamilton, the account for the Broadway musical.

The mood quickly changed from attacking to showing the small theatre group support with tweets apologizing for other’s behaviour and helping to promote their current show, Toxic Avenger.
