3,2,1… DODGE
Canada’s largest single day dodgeball tournament is heading to London this Saturday. The fifth annual tournament has established itself as one of Canada’s most prolific tournaments. 54 teams from all over will gather at Fanshawe College to throw and hopefully dodge some balls.
Steve Hickson from the London Dodgeball League says team will travel far distances for this tournament,
” We have teams coming from all over, the farthest away is probably Chicago, Minneapolis and Quebec City. But also local teams like Sarnia and of course London.”
Many people do not know that there is a London Dodgeball League, Steve wants the sport to grow and hopes this tournament is a bridge of growth for the sport.
“Tournament like this are giving more awareness to the sport out there, because I think a lot of people you know when I tell them I play dodgeball there like what! They don’t believe it.”
Several members of Canada’s national team will be playing in the competitive division at the tournament.
Admission is free for the tournament at Fanshawe College. Recreational division starts at 9am and the competitive division will start at 3pm.
