The 25th annual Distinguished Alumni award show is back.
6 individuals that have graduated Fanshawe, are getting recognized who have had success in workplace and in their community.
President Peter Devlin had this on the hall of fame night “this is the night where we pay tribute to alumni that has made this college so proud of what they did to support our brand”.
Picking the winners wasn’t easy according to President Devlin “we spent late nights trying to pick out some alumni and then we send them up to provincials to get provincial recognition”.
Dr. Louise Giles, who graduated the nursing program in 1980, is the winner of the health sciences award, “I was in disbelief, but humbled and really honoured when i got the notification that I won the award, and i was quite surprised because there is a lot of good people that come out of Fanshawe”.
Dr. Giles also would take this moment share some advice to all the current and future Fanshawe students who look forward to becoming an award winner some day “follow your dreams, follow your heart and soak in everything you can learn and incorporate it to your daily life, reach for the stars”.
This hall of fame dinner was also the first event to kick off Fanshawe’s 50th anniversary “Fanshawe college has done some amazing things, and it all starts with what our graduates have accomplished in those years”.
