London Police are currently investigating an overnight homicide which took place on the east side of town.
At approximately 11:40 pm last night, police responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Lansdowne Avenue.
When they arrived on the scene, they discovered 2 males had been injured. 43 year old Raymond Beaver was stabbed and taken to a hospital, where he later died of his wounds. 47 year old George Janes suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was released from the hospital this morning.
“They kicked the door down and went downstairs and attacked my nephew. A couple of other people came up to attack me. I kept trying to fight them off, by the time I got my crowbar, I was hit in the head.”
Several people were seeing fleeing the scene, however no arrests have been made yet.
Constable Sandasha Bough confirms the incident was not random, but cannot pinpoint any of the crimes to a group.
“Right now it’s believed that this was a targeted event. There are no risks to public safety at this time.”
Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to come forward.
