Talk to anybody in the London Knights dressing room and they will say they are not happy with the start to their start season. The Knights travel down the 401 to take on the rival Windsor Spitfires. London enters the game against Windsor this evening with a record of 1-6-0-0 and are currently on a 5-game losing streak.
Tonight is the first game of a home-and-home between the two clubs. London is looking to turn around their season and the opportunity in front of them is perfect, playing 2 games against Windsor and then home to the Owen Sound Attack Sunday afternoon.
Knights forward Sam Miletic talks about how they can turn around their season.
“We got to keep working and emphasize doing well in practice and practicing really hard everyday. I know it’s a cliché but you practice how you play and it will carry over into the games.”
He talks about the preparation for playing 2 games in 2 nights.
“You have to take care of yourself, you practice all week for the couple games and you have to take care of yourself after the first one to bounce back the next day”
The Knights still have 3 players in the NHL. Victor Mete is with Montreal, Alex Formenton is with Ottawa and Jesper Bratt is with New Jersey.
Puck drop this evening will be delayed as the Windsor Spitfires are raising their Memorial Cup banner.
