Thurman circle has always had the reputation of being fanshawe’s party street. This year it did not live down to expectations as more than a dozen police officers and members of the emergency response unit were needed to disperse close to 500 people who came from houses around the neighbourhood. all of this took place Monday night shortly after 12am when police received a call that students were throwing bottles up and down the street causing harm to a police cruiser in the process.
damages are expected to reach an estimated cost of 500 dollars with students around thurman also receiving provincial offence notices for violation of city of London’s nuisance by-law which can also result in fines up t0 10,000 dollars.
dan warren landlord at thurman circle gives some tips for students worried about there well being ” when your having parties i suggest having people you know at these parties because i know I’ve had this problem where some tenant’s have had there own party but then parties around the area get shut down so the other people try to get into there parties , and thats not good some if your going to throw a party make sure you know the surroundings”
he also went on to say he believes police have this situation under control and things should be back to normal fairly soon.
