Canada Post has voted in favour of a strike if a deal cannot be reached. Nearly 95 percent of mail carriers voted to walk out. This possibility could create many problems for businesses dealing with shipping orders and bills.
Microcad is a Microsoft authorized refurbisher that is very active in delivering products to retailers including Best Buy, Staples, the Source and many more. As I-T workers they provide service for Workers Safety Insurance Board (WSIB). This is for workers that have been injured and need to be retrained through a college or university program. Part of their agreement is that Microcad supplies them with computers and software. Canada Post is the primary mail carrier used that arrive everyday to deliver the software needed to these workers. Delays could cause a problem financially to Microcad and customer service because of the sudden need for their delivery services.
“It will effect us financially because we’re expecting delays and if there are delays in our product being shipped there will delays in us getting paid back from WSIB”
The earliest possible date for the strike is September 26th.
