Today marked the second annual London Yoga Festival.
The day-long event offered a variety of options for any yoga enthusiast. Whether you’re a yoga master, or if you don’t even own a mat, the festival hosted an activity that was right for you.
Doors opened at 8:30am at the London Waldorf School, as the all-day event continued on into the night. The festival hosted many special guest speakers, with an overall focus on reducing stress and finding inner peace.
One of the festival’s volunteer coordinators, Sophie Hawkins, also an experienced yoga instructor, truly believes the event can open doors to a better lifestyle. “Stress is a big deal in our culture today,” she says. “A lot of my massage clients and yoga students are coming to yoga because they want to live a more balanced, peaceful life. I think you’re really going to get a cross-section of different possibilities [at the festival] that might really enhance your well-being.”
This year’s festival offered more activities than ever before. “This is the second annual Yoga Festival event,” Hawkins said, in an interview last week. “From the feedback we got last year, there are many people looking forward to this year coming again. They had lots of wonderful things to say about it, and we’re just looking forward to a more expansive version this year.”
Yoga enthusiasts should keep an eye out for future festivals that may host even more expansive and diverse activities.
