Fanshawe and the FSU (fanshawe student union) has teamed up to run a event called Collective kitchen. This is an event for fanshawe students where they will be offered the opportunity to learn how to cook fresh meals which they will be able to take home along with 4 other prepared meals for the week. Every week meals will be changed to accommodate all students. Fanshawe has hired a professional chef to come in from week to week and the food will all be purchased by the fsu from grocery stores. This is a great opportunity for students to get involved around the school and meet new friends especially if they are first years. every Thursday they will be running this event in D2000 spots are filled up for now but more should open up in the upcoming weeks. This is an awesome event for the school as it allows college students who don’t have very much money to learn valuable cooking skills and even get themselves some food for the upcoming week. Amy Romeo fanshawe fsu administrative support had this to say when asked about what she looks to get out of collective kitchen. ” if you give a student that one fish they will eat the fish but if you teach them how to fish they will be able to make that fish again and again “
