A new Season is here, it’s a new chapter for all 31 teams in the National Hockey League. There are 4 games on the schedule tonight and, they should all be very exciting.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Montreal Canadiens:
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be a tough task for the Montreal Canadiens as they have one of the best lineups in the league. If you thought they were good last year well, they should be even better this season. After taking part in one of the biggest free agent signings in NHL history the Leafs are an offensive juggernaut. John Tavares was signed by the Leafs in the off-season and should add leadership, character, and obviously offence to the team. Meanwhile the Montreal Canadiens did not have quite the off-season they would have hoped to have but, they have something to look forward to. Jesperi Kotkaniemi had a rough start with the Montreal fan base since everyone thought Philip Zedina was going to be picked by the Canadiens, that obviously did not happen. Kotkaniemi proved in the pre-season that the Canadiens did not make the wrong pick since, he will be in tonight’s line up. Tonight’s starting goalies are Frederik Andersen for the Leafs and Carey Price for the Montreal Canadiens, puck drop is at 7:00pm.
Boston Bruins vs Washington Capitals:
This Game should be a grudge match. Both the Bruins and Capitals like to play the same kind of game, hard on the puck and crash the net. The Defending Stanley Cup Champions will look to start off the same way they finished and, that’s on a winning note. The Bruins will be playing hungry tonight, after a second-round exit in the playoffs, the Bruins will look for a fresh start and to be a solid cup contender throughout the season. Both teams tonight will have to be on their toes and, should try to stay out of the penalty box because both power plays are lethal, and it could be a deciding factor on who comes out with the win. The Starting goalies are Tuukka Rask for the Bruins and Braden Holtby for the Capitals, puck drop is at 7:30pm.
Calgary Flames vs Vancouver Canucks:
The Calgary Flames look like they will be red hot this season, as they have made some solid roster changes this summer. They acquired the offensive power house James Neal from the Vegas Golden Knights and Noah Hannifin from the Carolina Hurricanes. This should really solidify their core this year and, if they get good goaltending they can be a very dangerous team. The Vancouver Canucks will be with out the twin power for the first time since Henrik and Daniel Sedin have retired from the National Hockey League. They Should not be too concerned as they now have Jake Virtanen and Elias Pettersson in the same line up who both had very good camps and pre-season. Tonight’s game will feature a lot of speed and skill and, it should be a very close contest. The starting goalies are Mike Smith for the Flames and Jacob Markstrom for the Canucks, Puck drop is at 10:00pm.
Anaheim Ducks vs San Jose Sharks:
The battle lines are drawn… Duck vs Shark a division rival game that should not disappoint. Erik Karlsson makes his regular season debut with the Sharks and the Ducks will be without Corey Perry and Ryan Kesler due to injuries but, they should still put up a good fight. This game will be very fast and feature a lot of skill not only on the offense. This game will be all about who makes more of the little mistakes and, who wins the little battles to win the war. The starting goalies are John Gibson for the Ducks and Martin Jones for the Sharks, puck drop is at 10:30pm.
Enjoy what should be a great start to the 2018-19 NHL Season.
