Fanshawe’s women’s soccer team has put a clinic this year as they improve their record to a perfect 10-0. The team finished up the regular season after a 4-1 win over Redeemer. This very impressive season saw the team score 53 goals while only giving up 4 through all 10 regular season games. The team rallied behind star forward, Jade Kovacevic who was able to find the net 30 times this season. Jade was able to break the record for most goals scored in a single season. Krovacevic’s stellar year topped the former record of 28 which was set by Cambrian’s Tiffany Johnson in 2016. The star was able to rub shoulders with another record as she came just short for most all time goals scored with 79 after just three seasons with the Falcons. This OCAA record is held by Tiffany Johnson who has a career 83 goals in four seasons.
Fanshawe will face a to be determined opponent in a quarterfinal match at the OCAA Provincial Championship. The event is being hosted by Seneca College from October 25-27.
