According to the Canadian women’s foundation, Half of all women in Canada have experienced at least one incident of physical or sexual violence since the age of 16. Caroline Pugh-Roberts was a victim of domestic violence and human trafficking. She was trafficked here in London for 8 years by her so called boyfriend.
In her situation she had just lost her husband, mother and best friend around the same time and was suffering form clinical depression, when her new boyfriend came along with promises of a good life. For Caroline getting help wasn’t easy at first since herself didn’t believe she was being abused/trafficked, not until she got help form the abused women shelter.
Caroline is now an advocate for the women who are abuse/ trafficked and goes to high school speaking to teenagers about the risks.
