Evan Bouchard and Alex Formenton are back in the Forest City.
Coming off short stints in the NHL, Bouchard and Formenton have been assigned the roles of captain and assistant captain respectfully. Formenton says he’s ready to take on more of a leadership role with the team,
“We have a lot of young guys too, so I want to try and share my experience and try and help them out as much as I can.”
Formenton played a total of nine games with the Ottawa Senators before being sent back down to the OHL. He scored his first NHL goal in last Tuesday’s game against the Arizona Coyotes, netting the only goal in a 5-1 loss.
Bouchard meanwhile has been spending time with the Edmonton Oilers. He’s played seven games and got his first goal against the Washington Capitals. He says he’s excited to be back playing in London, and this year’s team has potential to go far,
“I think we are as good as anyone in this league. I think we could have a shot at it. We didn’t lose too many players from last year, all the young guys here have got a lot of talent, so I think there’s a bright future here.”
Bouchard and Formenton’s homecoming game will come on Friday when the Knights take on the Sudbury Wolves.
