Woodstock Police Services awarded Constables Bezzo and Beattie on Tuesday for their quick thinking to save a life.
The two Constables life saving actions took place on July 30th at the Finkle Street bridge. A young female was hanging over the bridge by one arm, over top of the railway tracks. The two officers managed to get to the girl, undetected. They pulled her over the railing to safety.
“It is gratifying to see the exceptional actions of our members who go above and beyond to assist members of our community in need.” said Chief Bill Renton.
Renton added “It is clear that their quick and decisive actions saved the life on a young girl that evening and both officers are to be commended for their dedication to duty.”
The ceremony was held Tuesday night, where many other officers were commended for their exceptional service to the community.
