The love of dogs seems to come up more says Bunny Warner one of the artists in The Dog Show. Which may be the reason they’ve decided to put on the art gallery showcasing the furry animal. The Dog Show has been put together by five local artists who all share a love of dogs.
The art varies with paintings, drawings, pastels, sculptures, and even wearable dog hats. Each method of art is unique in how it portrays the animal. Some show personality and some show realism, which is how Warner likes to portray the dog.
“I love especially for animals, I like the fur the texture the shine in the eyes, and I find that I can sculpt that out or shape that out with pencil or graphite far more than I can with paints,” said Warner.
In this drawing by Warner, the girl is her grand daughter, and the dog was from Apple Land.
“My granddaughter wove her fingers into the fur on the top of his head and that deserved a drawing,” said Warner.
Through a silent auction located at the gallery, The Dog Show is raising some money for organizations in London that help dogs. The two organizations are East Village Animal Hospital(EVAH), and A.R.F. EVAH helps people who may not be able to afford a veterinarian by neutering or spaying their dogs for a lesser price. A.R.F helps rescue dogs and find them forever homes.
The Dog Show is located at Art With Panache, and will be open for you to see the art of these loyal family members until November 30th.
