It isn’t an easy task to find a job during college, in fact, finding a job is a hard job.
For this reason, Fanshawe College is gathering more than 150 companies from London and surrounding areas to help those students to find a job opportunity.
The 2019 Job Fair will happen on February 6th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m at Fanshawe College, London Campus in J Gyms.
Darlene O’Neill, director of the Employment and Student Entrepreneurial Services, explains that students will have a big chance to show themselves in a real job interview.
“150 employers are open to hiring students from Fanshawe.”
She reminds individuals that it is important to be ready for a quick pitch at the beginning of the interview, and also to be dressed for success.
“Treat this as a job interview. So, you should have the resume and student card to show before the interview, and with this amount of companies open to hiring, you should not miss this opportunity,” says O’Neill.
Employers such as Airbase Service, StarTech and Canada Revenue Agency will be there. However, the complete list of companies is available on Fanshawe Website and you can take a look at fields that are more interesting and directed at a career you specialize in.
O’Neill also points out that if students have questions about resumes, it is important to drop into the Office Career – D 1063 and check with a career consultant on what could be improved.
“It’s very important to do research about the employer. So, it is a good idea to visit their website first and be prepared.”
She also recommends not using the cell phones, eye contact all the time, and if the student has a business card, they could use it.
“We also provide clothes you can wear for this occasion. Just come to the career closet at D1063, and borrow whatever you feel necessary to dressing for success.”
