With a team of 140 people, over 50 sponsors, and over 200 hours of work, the CAISA Fashion Show (CFS) is back for its 21st run.
Each year, the Canadian Asian International Students Association (CAISA) from Western University develops one of the largest student-run fashion shows in Canada.
Not only does CAISA aim to showcase great fashion, but they also raise funds for charity.
“Being able to give back is all bigger than us…CAISA offers a great platform in which people can use all the different talents they have and put them towards a greater cause,” said Roy Fu, CFS’s executive director.
For 18 years the fashion show has been donating all proceeds towards the Children’s Health Foundation, an organization aimed towards raising funds to support specialized healthcare research for children and youth.

This year, the show will be directing their proceeds towards Congenital Heart Disease research.
“I think it’s always important to have something meaningful attached to what you do…It feels so good to actually make a difference as a student when you think there isn’t much you can do,” said Natalie Chow, CFS’s creative director

As for the show, Chow promises it will be something people will not forget.
“It’s a story about grief and loss and learning to overcome issues that may come up in your life,” she said. “People, especially students, will relate to the themes of the show,” she added.
The show will be taking place this Saturday, March 9 at Centennial Hall. Tickets can be purchased online.
