Although the weather wasn’t the greatest in Grand Bend over the Victoria Day long weekend, Lambton Shores Mayor says he’s looking forward to another busy season.
“It wasn’t an early spring, which made things a bit backwards, but beach staff had everything in great shape and now we’re ready for the summer.”

The Blue Flag Symbol located in Grand Bend
Grand Bend is Blue Flag Certified, which means certain standards such as environmental awareness must be met by the municipality.
“It’s a pro-active way to look after the beach, which is recognized internationally” says Weber.
With the Blue Flag flapping over the shores, Weber says it helps the local tourism industry.
“I believe it helps a lot with tourism, I think people from other countries and across Canada look for the blue flag symbol” says Weber.
Grand Bend has been certified for ten years and was one of the first beaches in Canada to get this recognition.
Weber also mentioned that the area also has two Blue Flag Certified Marinas.
Weber and staff are looking forward to the 2019 summer season and the beach will be packed with lots of activities such as, concerts, volleyball tournaments and beautiful sunsets.
